Long Range Precision 1

COURSE DESCRIPTION

Our Long Range Precision One (LRP-1), serves as the foundation for all LR / ELR & Hunt Prep focused rifle curriculum within Heartland training catalog. Prior to heading to the firing line we provide our students professional classroom instruction on:
  • The Fundamentals of Marksmanship
  • Basic ballistics
  • Units of measurement (MOA) & (MIL)
  • Data collection
  • Wind classification & indicators
  • Shooter/spotter communication
  • Intro to ballistic solvers & apps
  • Intro to Spotter Duties / Competency
We then move to the firing line where we will:
  • “Fit” shooters to their rifles
  • Adjust & focus scope diopters if necessary
  • Establish & confirm zero
  • Conduct spotter assisted target engagements
  • Facilitate spotter familiarization & duties
LRP-1 concludes with students conducting spotter / instructor assisted live fire target engagements on LR & ELR targets

* We will assist you in running your rifle platform out to one mile if it has the performance capabilities to do so

* Suggested calibers for LRP-1 are .223 Rem up to .30 caliber magnums

* We do not allow Open Enrollment students to conduct LRP-1 live fire with .338 LM or larger rounds; we will however allow you to engage targets with a caliber of that nature once you have run out to distance on your primary rifle platform

* No lever action or AK style rifles without prior coordination & discussion

* Silencers / Suppressors are welcome & preferred

* LRP-1 is our most popular Open Enrollment class offering, but we also conduct many Private group & individual LRP's as well; reach out to coordinate
